About Graco
In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on.

4 out of 5 stars Works Well   August 20, 2010

Purchased this stroller to go with our Graco Snugride 35 infant carseat. Was told this was made to specifically fit this model carseat, but we find it kinda hard to snap in - seems as if the carseat is just a tad too big - it does fit, just takes some coordination. Other than that works great - nice and lightweight - perfect for the mall.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent stroller alternative for infants   August 10, 2010

A little background: I am 5'11" and my husband is 6'3" -- so when researching infant car seats before my son was born, I focused on seats that would work for a larger baby. (and now he's 6 months and 20 pounds) I also read Baby Bargains cover to cover for recommendations on all kinds of gear. I like their style, and am a no-fuss kind of girl. We settled on the Graco Snugride 32 and this frame as our infant stroller combo.
After 6 months of use, the stroller has been great. They've designed the system to be pretty fool-proof. Everything that is red does something for you -- locks, unlocks, snaps, clicks, etc. It folds up easily and I like the latch they've designed. (The latch/locking mechanism is something that I've only really started to appreciate as we've begun to research other stroller options.)

PROS: compact, lightweight, easy to fold, latches well, wheels lock easily, the handle height adjusts for taller parents, the basket is huge and easily accessible.

CONS: sometimes it's a little hard to steer and I've bumped into curbs and walls while not paying attention. This is a minor complaint.

In hindsight it may have been a better idea t get a different stroller -- one that the infant seat could snap into, but would also allow him to grow with. We've looked at the Metrolite but I think the latch would drive me crazy; in the store it never seemed to catch correctly. We ended up buying a second-hand Peg Perego Aria MT this weekend and it looks like it's going to be great. We also just bought a new convertible car seat too, because although this one will still work for awhile, he's way too heavy to be carting around between cars.

5 out of 5 stars A great lightweight stroller option!   July 30, 2010

I am VERY pleased with the stroller frame! It says "assembly required" which basically meant snapping on the wheels and cupholders. VERY EASY! It is perfectly compatible with my Graco Safeseat Car Seat, which I purchased in 2006. I LOVE the stroller that came with my carseat, but it's quite heavy and bulky, this one folds easily and is very light -- will be a great option for my little one when she arrives in 2 weeks!

3 out of 5 stars Lightweight, convenient, could improve the design   July 28, 2010

Love how lightweight this stroller is but considering it's really only half a stroller with the carseat making up the other half it really doesn't fold up that small. The cupholders totally suck. They are way too shallow and small. A large bottle of water won't fit at all and anything above a small starbucks cup will fall out at the slightest jostle. The basket is nice and big. Handling could use definite improvement even with the front wheels unlocked. I also have a three wheeled stroller (baby jogger, city mini) and that thing turns on a dime. Would love to see a three wheeled version of this. Also, agree with the other reviewer who said brakes get stepped on easily, woke my baby quite a few times with that one. I have't experienced any of the tipping issues or problems with popping out that others have said. I do think both folding up and unfolding could be greatly improved, can't really do either one handed and if the wheels aren't in the right position when you fold it up it won't lock closed and will open right back up on you when you go to throw it in the trunk. But if your getting the graco carseat this is a he'll of a lot better than the travel system. That stupid behemoth is a complete waste of money.

5 out of 5 stars YOU NEED TO BUY THIS   July 22, 2010

This is AWESOME... If you're like me, you went and bought a travel system.. and regretted it! The Graco system I bought is so bulky and heavy!! It drove me crazy.. Until I got this!! I love it. I used it for about 9 months, just click the carseat in, and you're good to go! We took it with us on vacation to Florida too, it was perfect. Only negative is that you can't use it without the carseat. I wish there were a way to!
