Product Description Rebecca Bloomwood has the dream job. She's a personal shopper, so is able to spend other people's money all day instead of her own. And she gets paid for doing it. The perfect job, the perfect man - gorgeous Luke Brandon - and now...the perfect wedding. Yes, Luke has proposed and wedding bells are in sight. No excuses are needed to start the shopping trip of all time. And Becky's parents are just assuming that the wedding will be at home - a marquee in the garden and Becky in her mum's wedding dress, which she's been saving specially for the occasion. But Luke's mother has very different ideas - a huge affair in New York in a forest glade setting - or perhaps a Venetian Ball, or a fin de siecle extravagance? Now Becky's getting confused. She doesn't want to say 'no' to anyone. The plans are going ahead, and soon it will be too late to turn back - from either wedding...

Exactly what I ordered August 31, 2010 Carol in Virginia This is the first time I've ordered used books, so I was hesitant. However, when I received my books, they were in the condition as described and were delivered on time.
Happy with order August 9, 2010 Nelly Book was in good condition as stated. Product was shipped quickly after ordering. I would use them again
Love the Shopaholic Series but not this book July 15, 2010 V. Seaton (Southeast) I've just spent the last week reading the series. Until this point, I'd enjoyed reading about Becky's antics. She was adorable and enjoying. However, in this particular book, I became extremely annoyed with her--almost to the point of not liking the character anymore. I would've given this a 2.5 if I could.
The Negatives:
Becky's inability to be an adult and be honest with those who love and support her really drove me crazy. She's still lying to Luke about her spending and hiding bank statements. Then, the main plot regarding the two weddings is too far fetched and frustrating. Becky allows herself to practically be told what her wedding will be. Because she lacks a backbone or the ability to be honest, she allows two weddings to be planned and ultimately compromises everything she wants to please everyone else. Through the process, she reduces herself to acting like a child by scheming and plotting rather than being a woman that can make a choice. She also wants Luke to open up to her throughout the book. But, when he does, she barely even acknowledges his feelings. It became extremely annoying to see her be so immature and wimpy. I wanted to shake her. I also wish we'd been given more insight and time with Becky and Luke as a couple. The glimpses we're given are a bit rushed and shallow.
The Positives:
We see more of Luke's character than in previous books. He becomes more of a real character in this book. I enjoyed learning more about him but wish there'd been more. We see him evolve and come to some realizations. His growth in this book far exceeds Becky's. The return of characters like Christina, Suze, Michael, Janice, and Becky's parents was enjoyable. Luke and Becky make it down the aisle! Although I'd lost interest about the wedding before completing the book, I'm glad Becky's a Brandon now.
My Conclusion:
Of course, things work out in the end, but Becky doesn't grow. She has the wedding her mom wants her to have. I guess Kinsella wanted to redeem Becky by having her do something unselfish. But, I couldn't help but think how easily avoidable it all was--if she'd just been a grown up! Becky never accepts responsibility for what she allowed to happen and still lies in the end to work things out regarding the two weddings. In her words: "I didn't do all of this intentionally, you know! It...just happened."
Shopaholic order June 5, 2010 Ashley Wood I received this item in a timely manner and it was in very good condition! Thanks!!
Ugh, Becky is SOOOO annoying. March 29, 2010 Jersey Reader (Sunnyvale, CA) I got through about 1/3 of this book before I started flipping through as though I were fast-forwarding a program using TiVo. Becky just lies and lies. And she has no consistency to her character at all. Every now and then she 'grows a pair' and makes total sense and can be really aggressive. But most of the time she's stuttering, 'Erm...' and blushing which makes me want to toss the book in the trash. She lies to everyone, including her husband, best friends, parents, strangers, EVERYONE. The girl has the (fictional) world at her feet and an all-expenses paid wedding at NY's Plaza, so choose what YOU want for god's sake and tell your parents that that's what you want if you want it. Frustrating. I never properly finished the book although I read and was able to complete three others. I just couldn't stand it anymore. I would never recommend this series to my friends. EVER. I don't even know if I'd admit reading them to my friends. Her husband Luke is so uptight and never has any time for Becky. It's a total airhead plot and I was wishing I never read it. Author writes in a few chapters as though she's totally at a loss and I felt like the story was just idling in some parts. You've been warned.
