Put simply, this book is cheap. It is physically flimsy and not well-edited. The title page is one line containing, of course, the title. The one line is only italicized for half of it. In fact, it starts being italicized _in the middle of a word._ There is a chapter entitled "You can make unlimited money follow the terms of service."
In terms of content, this book will not help you create an application beyond a basic "Hello, world" with maybe a little bit of extra functionality. The number of pages with code is around eleven, depending on what you classify as code. I've had better luck with "Building Facebook Applications for Dummies." The last 24 pages are the terms of service, taken verbatim from the Facebook Developer site.
In short, don't bother.
