The best RPG I have ever played. September 2, 2010 Johnathan T. Borden Morrowind is without a doubt my favorite game in the world. Though I don't play it so much anymore having beaten the main quest and a lot of the side quests it is a truly epic game. You start off with a very weak character and the gaming world seems very cruel as very few people are nice to you and most creatures you come across can kill you. After you build your characters strength up you really get hooked. You could play this game for ages and never even touch the main quest and the main quest alone took longer than any other game I have ever had to beat. For me there is also a lot of replay value in the game. The combat is a bit clunky not in the sense of glitchy but it just does not fell like other games but you get use to it eventually. There is a stunning array of skills to develop from magic to acrobatics. You join guilds to get missions and learn new things. The world of Morrowind is huge and there are very different lands to explore in the world. Sometimes I would spend hours raiding caves and crypts killing ghosts, zombies, and pirates just for the fun of it. The characters do actually speak but mostly just when you are walking around near them. When you actually have to end up talking to one you will be doing a lot of reading which is a good thing because you can get the information you need much faster than waiting for them to say it. You could go out into the swamp to collect herbs for potion making or spend your time at a bookstore reading up on Morrowind's history. You really can do whatever you want in the game. The main quest is interesting but can be a bit frustrating at times because unlike oblivion you do not have an arrow always pointing you in the right direction for the active quest. So you have to do some detective work and actually explore but this is not alway a bad thing if you like longer games. The only real problem I had with the game was the journal. It gets new entries all the time and there is no way to organize it so you never know what quest you finished and which you didn't without reading through quite a few pages. Despite this fact it is still a wonderful game and I have yet to find a game that impressed me as much as Morrowind did. Yes I have Oblivion and have beaten it as well but there is just something special about Morrowind that you will never know unless you really give it a chance and play it through. I would defiantly recommend it.
FUN! July 22, 2010 POPCORN this game is really fun its even better if you have a good graphics card too play it with so the water looks sweet but you can play this game forever and never die its just like oblivion just more suitable for comps that are not 64-bit or biggger.
Morrowind is definetly the GoTY June 20, 2010 Roman Delehant (Champlin, MN, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First off there was a good reason Morrowind was made pc game of the year. This awesome addition to the Elder scrolls series was made for both the pc and Xbox. I myself bought it for pc and was very sattisfied. Morrowind is a first person rpg. Where you choose your class and traits. Then you get to explore the land of Morrowind. This game of the year edition has both the original Morrowind game and the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions built in. The gameplay for this game is so vast and expansive that you could never experience the full game on the first round. This game has rich graphics, loads excellent music, and okay voice acting. The only problem I have with this game is the fighting animation. All you have for the fighting animation is the sound of whacking and a small amount of poorly animated blood. This however does not take away from the game. The sequel to Morrowind, known as Oblivion has these minor things fixed but with no where near the same amount of game time. For how much this game is priced I would strongly recommend buying this game.

Morrowind:
Although certainly subject to opinion, as Role-Playing-Games go, this is one of the best. As far as I know you have to follow the "Blades" quests in the game in order to complete the game. But other than that, it is pretty much go where you want to, do what you want. I think there are at least 8 other factions in the game whose quests you can follow, but non are necessary except for enjoyment and re-playability.
Other things that make this game enjoyable are that the interface is not overly complex and easy to use. Also, the menu system is quite easy to use considering the large number of items you will likely carry and the tasks you can perform using the menus.
The two expansion packs add some to the game, but not that much. Tribunal adds a nice feature of being able to add notes to the game map.
