| Customer Reviews: A Band that Belongs in the Spotlight June 5, 2008 Gracie Houston (Santa Cruz, California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Nickelback achieved commercial success with their release of Silver Side Up years ago, but then maybe lost things a bit with their follow up album The Long Road. So now they're back. The album opens with "Follow You Home" and it's heavy and strong and it sounds like singer Chad Kroeger is angry and mad at the world. It gives you the vibe that the band is trying to make a point with their last album not doing so well and want to come back with a vengeance.
The album continues in the same vein with the second track "Fight For All The Wrong Reasons", with heavy guitars and strong vocals. Then the album moves to a more commercial rock vibe. The songs have the catchy choruses, big backing vocals and typical power chords. This album is definitely better than the band's last effort and the song "Rock Star" I liked very much and can hear it as a single. Hopefully this album will bring Nickelback back into the spotlight, right where they belong.
