1 out of 5 stars Warning! Be Careful if you Uninstall WinJournal Data   February 28, 2010
J. Cox (USA)

I have used MacJournal, and it's kind of klunky, but I found it useful enough to buy WinJournal for a Windows machine. Bad experience. It's twice as klunky as the original Mac version. After a couple of tries, I quit using it. This afternoon, cleaning up my hard drive on the Windows XP machine, I uninstalled WinJournal. The program uninstall went fine. But then the pop-up asked if I wanted to delete WinJournal data files. I wasn't going to use the files, so I clicked yes. The result: EVERY DATA FILE ON MY DESKTOP WAS ERASED! No, not moved to the recycle bin, ERASED! I suspect that the WinJournal file was on my PC desktop, therefore WINJOURNAL DELETED EVERYTHING ON THE DESKTOP. Very bad software. And because this is a Windows PC, with nothing like Time Machine doing automatic hourly backups, I have lost hundreds of hours of work that now has to be rebuilt. Yes, I do make data backups on the XP machine, but because they are so time consuming, and require conscious effort on my part, the last one is about two months old. If you dare buy this product, please learn from my mistake.

5 out of 5 stars Great Journal, Blog, and Note-taking app   March 9, 2008

WinJournal is great at helping me organize my busy life. Keep tabs on what I'm doing, goals, creative writing, dreams, etc... it has a calendar and can send entries to Blogger, LiveJournal, etc. Recently I've been using the audio recording for notes and stuff I don't want to forget.

cool skinable app
great integration with blog sites
cheap price
nearly indispensable fro every day life

a bit clunky in places
no Xanga blog support
