5 out of 5 stars Love 'em   January 3, 2010

I love these things. Sound is great although slightly less through bluetooth. Bought a sony bluetooth adapter for my home stereo so I could watch TV and play video games while the roommates do laundry. No problems at all. I'm no audiophile, but the sound is awesome for me.

1 out of 5 stars Flimsy Design, Broke after 8 months of little use   December 20, 2009

Be very careful if you are looking for quality of product. BEWARE.

I purchased these headphones back in April of 2009 from sears when the had these discounted for $69.99!!!! I can't believe these Ref 610 bluetooth headphones are selling for $229 on amazon. These are very cheap construction.

To explain where they are broken: The slide feature on the headphones which allow for plenty of head size adjustment. At the joint where the two sliding parts come together, it has snapped on the inside edge of the joint and has effectively made the head phones unusable. About 2 weeks ago when I was wearing these headphones, I had noticed a small amount of pain being caused by the head phones on my head, so I just figured they were adjusted to my head and gave it a readjustment. The next time I put these on I felt the same pain but I could figure out where it was coming from because when I took them off the split in the side wasn't showing because it wasn't being stretched apart as it was while in use. Today, I put the headphones on and they snapped right at that point essentially severing one earphone from the set, save the wire still allowing it to dangle in my hands!

I have tried to contact JBL about this issue and as of today the customer service is closed for holiday season, wow, little early to be taking off for the season considering. I will try to update this or another review to see if JBL is of any help, but it doesn't look good. I do have a pair of old sony headphones that I bought back in the early 90's that are still awesome...maybe JBL should try buying out some of sony's MECHANICAL ENGINEERS!!!!!

On a positive note: I guess I am better off than the ones who spent 230 bucks on these and will eventually have the same problem.

1 out of 5 stars Poor product and poor support   December 7, 2009

After considerable effort, got headphones and Bluetooth dongle to "pair up" but after satisfactorily using them for a few days, they would no longer pair up at all.

I have now contacted JBL and followed their requirements for post sales support. To make a long story short, I am now almost 7 weeks into the effort with multiple emails and faxes sent to JBL and as of today, they "...have no record of any my requests."!

I would strongly recommend another product by another manufacturer as JBL's support is as weak as is their product.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing headphones   December 6, 2009

These headphones are great. They fit nicely, they're comfortable, the sound quality is superb despite them being wireless, and they are easy to use. The one thing that people should know, however is that the headphones drain the ipod battery heavily. I recently bought a new 120gb ipod classic and i would charge it about once a week when i used normal headphones. With these headphones i listen to the ipod about the same amount and i have to charge it about every 2 or 3 days. I havent done an actual battery life test with them but i would estimate that they can go for about 12 hours or so. The ipod 120gb is supposed to get around 36 hours with normal headphones, so if you have a smaller ipod that has a smaller battery life, or an old ipod, you should probably not invest in these expensive headphones because it may become too much of a hassle to always be charging the ipod. The headphone battery life, however is great.
