4 out of 5 stars Fun Game   August 29, 2010
J. Galbraith (Florida)
At first I was a little frustrated with this game, as I was a huge fan of Ultimate Destruction, and this was not at all the same. The camera was very frustrating in the intro level, and the controls were not very responsive. After playing this game for about 30 minutes however, I became accustomed to the controls, and started to have fun smashing up New York City. I have played it for probably ten hours now, and I can say definitively that this is a very fun game to just run around and smash stuff. In comparison to the previous Hulk installment aforementioned, this is not near as good of a game. It is simply unfinished. When I climb to the top of a skyscraper, the rest of the city is all grayed out, like the graphics engine couldn't handle all the detail, but that's not true, it just wasn't ever put in there. The controls never do live up to the predecessor, they are very basic. The thing I liked the most about Ultimate Destruction was the seemingly endless array of combo moves you could unlock as you progressed in the game. That is all but gone from this game. The moves are much easier however, and a novice game player would probably be able to better control the Hulk in this game. The story is pretty terrible and instead of getting a cut scene or graphics of any sort for a mission, you just get a picture of a desk, and a lame 2 lines of voiceover. There's literally, no story at all, other than here's your next mission, smash stuff, save somebody, or smash somebody. The only real incetive to continue the story is the upgrades to your powers, and the increasing difficulty of the army chasing after you (think wanted stars ala GTA). In fact, this game is a lot like GTA if GTA just skipped over all the cut scenes and dialogue. Having said all that, I could personally care less what the Hulk has to say, or who's saying what to him, as long as I get to smash the hell out of them, and everything around them when they get done talking. The fact that I can smash a tank with a giant ice cream cone makes up for almost all the lacking elements of this game. It's not rocket science, it's just wanton destruction, limited only by your imagination. I can smash just about everything I can see in this game, and it's really a lot of fun to do that, so I'm happy with this game. Not as happy as I was with Ultimate Destruction, but it's the second best game I've played where the sole purpose is to destroy everything in a fit of rage.

2 out of 5 stars The Not-So Incredible Hulk   May 20, 2010
H. Michaels (Hollywood, California United States)
Shortly before the next-gen XBOX-360 and PS3 consoles came out, there was a game called The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for XBOX and PS2. It was a fantastic game that pushed the boundaries of the older systems. Hulk was given free roam over a smaller than scale NY city.

The Incredible Hulk movie game listed here is a retread of 'Ultimate Destruction' for the next-gen consoles, and they've done little to bring it up to speed with other next-gen games. It looks like some 1st year Devry kids put together a model of NY city overnight. The game looks pathetic. If you want to see how a real NY-style city should be rendered, go buy GTA IV.

The gameplay is almost exactly the same as Ultimate Destruction, except Ultimate Destruction was a lot more fun. Skip this game. They failed in every respect.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome cathartic fun!   March 2, 2010

I'm going to admit right out, I haven't finished this game. I haven't bothered playing past the first NY mission. I am having WAY too much fun just running around, jumping, climbing buildings, and destroying things. The environment is HUGE, and everything can be smashed to rubble. I beat people on the street up with a GIANT TACO.

A GIANT TACO!

ANY game that lets you smash up pedestrians with a giant taco is unarguably seething with EPIC WIN. I only wish I could take the Hulk across the river to destroy New Jersey.

4 out of 5 stars Ultimate Destruction for the Next Generation   February 19, 2010
Jeven W. (Virginia)
Probably one of the few games based off a movie that doesn't totally suck. Simply put, if you enjoyed "Ultimate Destruction" you'll get a kick out of this game for sure. The destruction element is ramped from UD quite a bit and the story I thought was decent. Not the best story ever but not crappy either. If anything it's like Grand Theft Auto meets Rampage.

The game does have its downfalls with certain moves from UD not being in this one but the game tries to make up for that with different moves and abilities replacing them. One particular thing that I noticed is that the game has a tendency to freeze up a lot whether you're running it off the hard drive or on CD. Not sure what causes this (maybe something in the game engine), but may become an annoyance.

For 20 bucks off of amazon here, you'll have a great time smashing stuff with this fun game.

4 out of 5 stars Nice Game!!   February 15, 2010

Good story line! , Good Graphics! A video game isn't obligated to be in 3D just to be a good video game.
This one is a nice 2D game
