5 out of 5 stars Classic music of our time   January 30, 2010

In the sixties the Traveling Wilbury's would have been called a super group. Their music is unidentifiable by the many flavors each musician brings to the group. Great listening, bound to be a collectors item.

4 out of 5 stars A bit of nostalgia   January 21, 2010

This album brought back some serious memories for me. Sure, it was a bad time, but it was music like this that got me through them.

When I popped this disk in my player and heard the familiar notes that I knew by heart it just seemed like all was right with the world.

I used to have this on tape, but I listened to it so much that I literally wore it out. I searched music store after music store and spent many hours looking online for a copy. The best I could ever find was one on eBay for a three digit price. I love this disk, but not that much.

Finally, it popped up on Amazon and I put it in my cart. It would go up and down a dollar every few days until one day it went down a couple of dollars and I figured it was never going to go any lower, so away I clicked.

The sound quality just pops on my car CD player, which is just your average factory player. I don't recall if this was re-mastered or not but to be honest, I wouldn't care if it sounded like a scratchy LP. The only thing I object to is the bonus tracks. I remember this album the way it was and I just find the extra tracks distracting and actually detract from the album, because they're not that good. They seem somehow... out of place.

Still worth the price. Gonna miss George and Roy, though. There's never going to be another project like the Wilburys.

Oh, and for the record (no pun) it's those extra tracks that knocked it down to four stars.

Not only is this record superb, it's also a lot of fun to listen to. I can only imagine how fun it was for these guys to make it. I highly recommend it.

Really enjoy this CD featuring five famous musicians George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan singing new songs as a group. Love it!
