Album Description The Beatles and specifically the song writing megaliths of Lennon and McCartney produced some of the world's most memorable songs, so it was only a matter of time before their prodigious talent spread through to reggae, soul, funk and jazz to permeate musical worlds as yet un informed of the influence of the duo. From the London Jazz Four to Ike and Tina Turner who's covers have become classics in their own right, the power of a Beatles penned track has transpired musical pigeon holing and have remained formidable and awe inspiring soundtracks to many a dancefloor, soundsystem and jazz work out alike. 'We Can Work It Out' is the only Beatles covers album you'll need, compiled with dedication by true funk diggerz, this album is filled with music rather than fillers for music. Features a bonus Mix CD by 4-Hero. Harmless. 2005.

Customer reviews for "We Can Work It Out: Covers & Cookies of Lennon, McCartney & The Beatles"
Beatles with a bit of soul, January 1, 2006
This is a nice enough compilation. 16 tracks of soul and funk covers of classic Beatles songs (and one solo McCartney). Nothing particularly rare (the Earth, Wind & Fire track, for instance, is readily available at any thrift store on the Sgt. Pepper's movie soundtrack), but it's nice to have all the songs together. A major detractor is the redundant "mix" second cd. The tracks aren't really remixed, just re-shuffled.
